I’ve been thinking a lot about how leadership really shows up — especially for women running businesses. It’s rarely about having the “right” answer. More often, it’s about how we respond in moments of pressure, uncertainty, or difficult conversations. That’s why I’m excited to be partnering with the Maryland Women's Business Center’s for a virtual session called 'Leading with Emotional Intelligence and Influence'. We’ll talk honestly about: • Managing emotions when business feels personal • Responding (not reacting) in tough client or money conversations • Using empathy and presence to build trust and credibility • Leading in a way that feels authentic — not exhausting This session is designed for women entrepreneurs who are building, growing, and navigating real-world leadership moments every day. Grateful to MWBC for creating space for these conversations. 💛 Learn more and register here - https://lnkd.in/eWN4ZGFg #WomenEntrepreneurs #EmotionalIntelligence #LeadershipWithHeart #MWBC #WomenInBusiness #LeadershipWithHeart #WomenInLeadership #DynLeadCo

A Reminder for the Holiday Networking Season 🎄🤝 In a recent coaching session, a client told me, “I hate small talk. I don’t like talking about the weather—I just tune out.” So I asked her a simple question: “What do you bring to the conversation?” She paused. Then admitted she usually waits for other people to initiate—and that makes it easy for her to quietly opt out. As we explored further, she realized something powerful: She wasn’t disliking small talk… She was avoiding ownership. This time of year, many of us head into rooms—holiday events, end-of-year gatherings, team celebrations—where connection is possible if we choose to show up with intention. So here’s your gentle reminder as we move into the networking season: ✨ Be interested. Ask a deeper question. ✨Be interesting. Share a story that reveals who you are. ✨ Be present. Don’t wait for the energy—help create it. You don’t need a perfect elevator pitch. You just need a willingness to engage. Because when you stop being a passenger in conversations, they stop feeling like small talk… and start becoming opportunities. Reflection for the week: Your conversations are a reflection of your leadership—your presence, your clarity, your ownership. One small shift in how you show up can reshape how others respond. 🌲Holiday Networking: The Advantage Most Professionals Overlook Last night’s NAWBO Greater DC Wisdom & Wine event reminded me of something important for leaders and job seekers alike: November and December are the most powerful months for networking — and most people slow down exactly when opportunities start opening up. If you’re a leader, a business owner, or in a career transition, this season is your chance to strengthen relationships that will shape your Q1. 👇 Smart Holiday Networking Moves • Attend mixers, end-of-year events, and alumni gatherings • Reconnect with past colleagues, mentors, or partners • Send thoughtful notes to clients, stakeholders, or supporters • Share a year-end reflection or career update • Volunteer or show up in your community — impact elevates visibility • Schedule quick virtual coffees with people you’ve been meaning to reconnect with Why December Networking Works •People are more reflective, more open, and genuinely more willing to help. •Companies are planning for Q1. •Leaders are evaluating talent and partnerships. •Many professionals are quietly exploring new career possibilities. One intentional conversation in December can shift your next job, client, or collaboration. 💬 What’s one networking action you’ll take before January 1st? As this recent Forbes article points out, companies are far less likely to take a chance on someone stepping into their first senior role. The insights highlight why even talented, high-performing professionals can find themselves overlooked — and what it takes to bridge the gap. Take a moment to assess how you’re showing up today. Are you demonstrating the confidence, clarity, and executive presence that signal you’re ready for the next level — or waiting for permission to lead? #FridayForward #Forbes #DynLeadCo #ExecutiveCoach #LeadershipCoaching

✨ My Independence Day ✨ Today marks one year since I unceremoniously left my corporate job and chose to bet on myself — to focus fully on building my business. In this year of entrepreneurship, a few truths have stayed constant: 1️⃣ Your network matters more than ever. The instinct might be to withdraw — to feel like you’re wearing a scarlet letter and that everyone knows you’ve “left.” But don’t. You are not alone. Stay connected. Reach out. Yes, quiet reflection is important, but don’t let a few days turn into weeks or months of isolation. Your community is your lifeline. 2️⃣ Be intentional about what’s next. It’s easy to slip into a scarcity mindset — applying for everything, saying yes to every opportunity. Instead, take time to reflect on what you really want next. Be thoughtful and strategic. Remember: what’s next doesn’t have to be forever. It just has to be aligned with who you’re becoming. 3️⃣ Your worth was never tied to your title. It’s okay to grieve the ending of a chapter. That job was work — not your identity. You’re allowed to feel all the feelings while you rebuild and rediscover. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Lean on your people. They may not always say or do the right things, but they care. And community is what will carry you forward. So on this, my Independence Day — one year into full entrepreneurship (which I thought would take six months to launch… and well, it’s looking more like two years 😅) — I’m deeply grateful. 🙏🏾 Grateful for 20+ years of corporate experience. Grateful for the courage to step out. And grateful for the freedom to keep growing — because I was never meant to fit in a box. Sometimes, you just have to break free and trust that it will work out in the end. Keep surviving because thriving is on the other side. Have a great weekend, friends. #Entrepreneurship #DynLeadCo #LeadershipCoach #WomenInLeadership #EntrepreneurshipJourney #ProfessionalDevelopment
